LONDON, Great Britain – Alongside Kevin Durant, who spoke to the media before returning to practice with USA Basketball in London, LeBron James also took the mic.
Just like Kevin Durant, being here in the British capital recalls golden memories from the 2012 Olympic Games. “A lot of great memories obviously in 2012 coming here for the Olympics. It’s fun to come back and be part of Team USA once again”, LeBron James first said.
While saying that playing once again with Steph Curry feels “amazing”, he praised another one of his Olympic adventure mates. “It doesn’t matter if it’s international, domestic league games, wherever he plays. Bam [Adebayo] fits any style of play. Happy to be a teammate of his”, he commented.
The same applied to Anthony Edwards. “It doesn’t matter where AE [Anthony Edwards] is. He’s gonna be confident no matter if he’s in America or if he’s overseas. He’s a great young talent and an even better kid too. It’s fun to be around that type of energy”, the Chosen One added on Minnesota’s star.
Generally speaking, the 39-year-old superstar believes the team still needs improvements heading to the Olympic Games in Paris. “Our main focus when we play against those teams we’re locked in them, but we also need to lock in ourselves to continue getting better and better. We can’t never waste a day to get better”, USA Basketball’s legend said.
Bronny James has “so much room to grow”
While LeBron James is in Europe to chase another gold medal at the Olympics, his son Bronny is currently playing in the 2024 NBA Summer League after being drafted by the Lakers.
“The most important thing for him is to continue getting better and better every day. [With] games, practices, film sessions, and individual workouts. He’s 19 years old, so he has so much room to grow, and so much more to learn”, he first said about his son and newest teammate.
“The best thing is he just keeps his head down, stay focused. The workout will pay off. As a family obviously we’re proud of the fact he’s even at this point. The best will continue to come as he continues to work, getting better and better”, LeBron James also said about Bronny James.
Talking about teammates with the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James and Anthony Davis will go up against Wenyen Gabriel and South Sudan both tomorrow in London and at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, facing them in Group C alongside Puerto Rico and Serbia.
“He’s a great kid. Great memories of him being part of the Lakers. Always proud of everything he does”, USA Basketball’s superstar finally concluded about the newest Maccabi Tel Aviv addition.
