Australia found a victory against France in the latest friendly game on the road to the Olympic Games in Paris but could have lost one of the most important assets on the Boomers’ roster.

According to ESPN, during the second quarter of the exhibition in France, Dante Exum dislocated his finger, checking himself out of the game and running towards the locker rooms.

“It’s a concern, that’s all I know”, head coach Brian Goorjian worryingly commented in the post-game, not clearing the uncertainty regarding his team’s playmaker’s status.

At this point, the former Barcelona and Partizan Belgrade guard is in doubt about playing in the Olympic Games tournament, with Australia set to debut on July 27 against Spain in Group A, where Canada and Greece were also drawn.

In his latest official appearance for the Australian national team, at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, Dante Exum – who’s coming off a returning season in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks – averaged 11.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.
