LeBron James scored 11 out of his 20 points in the last four minutes and grabbed six rebounds to lead USA past reigning world champion Germany 92 – 88 in the final preparation game of the two teams ahead of the Olympics.

It was the first time the two teams faced each other following the semifinal win of Germany in the 2023 World Cup.

After hitting the game-winner vs. South Sudan, James was once again the man of the hour for USA With the score 87 – 86, he drained a triple and then bullied his way close to the basket for the layup that handed his squad a 92 – 86 advantage with 45 seconds remaining.

Apart from James, Joel Embiid notched 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Steph Curry scored 13 on 1-7 triples as their team completed the USA Basketball Showcase with a 5-0 record.

Franz Wagner led Germany with 18 points plus seven rebounds. Andreas Obst had 14 points while Dennis Schroder posted 13 points and 10 assists as Germany suffered its second training camp loss after a defeat to France earlier in July.
