Lille, France – A rough game for Serbia and Filip Petrusev, but two more important outings to go in the preliminary round of the 2024 Olympic Games.

Talking to Eurohoops on Monday, the 24-year-old forward/center shared the plan for the next games, moving forward in the round-robin schedule of Group C.

“It was not a great game for us,” he recapped the team showing against the United States on Sunday, “The United States demonstrated their talent and made their three-point shots. Even before, for us the other two games are important. So, we need to forget this one and focus on the next.”

“We need to win. We need to play better. But the most important is to win,” he added on Serbia facing Puerto Rico on Wednesday.

Starting for the team coached by Svetislav Pesic alongside Nikola Jokic, Petrusev tallied five points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 20 minutes.

“He is the best player in the world. He sees everything, and he draws a lot of attention. So, he makes it easier for the others. And he’s a competitor. He likes to win,” he discussed joining forces with the leading star of the Denver Nuggets and Serbia, “It is always great to play with a guy like this.”

Following Gameday 2 against Puerto Rico, Gameday 3 versus South Sudan wraps up pool play on Saturday.
