The day after the Olympic closing ceremony in Paris, Serbia celebrated their medalists, including the basketball team that won bronze by defeating 2023 World Cup winners Germany.
Svetislav Pešić’s squad was greeted by around 40,000 fans in front of the Belgrade City Hall, along with other medalists from Paris, such as Novak Đoković.
Players like Nikola Jokić, Bogdan Bogdanović, and Aleksa Avramović, who were honored after the basketball tournament in the French capital with individual awards, received a more than warm welcome upon returning home, with people cheering and dancing in celebration of the decorated Serbian athletes.
The interesting part was when Jokic stepped on the balcony, and everyone chanted: “MVP, MVP, MVP”.
