Victor Wembanyama led France to a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, his first major tournament with the national team.
They eventually lost to Team USA in the final despite Wembanyama scoring 26 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
After the game, he was seen talking to Kevin Durant.
“Clearly, this is my personal childhood favorite. He became my favorite player… I made it clear to him that I wanted to learn from him and perhaps steal one or two of his secret techniques,” Wembanyama said to M6 Info, speaking about his encounter with Durant.
After averaging 15.8 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in his home country, Wembanyama is now turning his focus to his second NBA season, where he’ll have more opportunities to grow and even learn from Durant.
