Following Bogdan Bogdanovic, Carmelo Anthony reacted similarly to the Serbian guard taking a page out of a trademark celebration.

Anthony, 40, discussed various topics coming out of following the 2024 Olympic Games and Team USA winning gold in Paris, including Bogdanovic making his move after connecting a three-pointer in the Semifinal between Serbia and the United States.

“That is my son right there,” he said in a visit to the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, “I am not even saying nothing to Bogi. I am like, as he is playing, he makes a shot, Oh, I like that Bogi, I see you’. I am talking that shit to him. So I appreciate everybody taking my side, but he was showing love.”

“He knocked down that three down like that,” continued Melo, “I really wanted to cheer. I’m like, ‘I can not show any emotion, just accept what comes with it’. I really wanna be like, ‘Yo, that was crazy’. I wanted to point at him. That probably was one of the greatest games I have ever, ever been to.”

A late rally pushed the team coached by Steve Kerr to a win in Accor Arena and from there to gold after defeating host France two days later.

“It is just enjoyment, competitiveness on the court, and respect for him,” commented Bogdanovic after the exciting game, “To have him over there as a legend, nothing else but respect and competitiveness.”

Serbia and Bogdanovic eventually settled for bronze medals.
