For fans already missing basketball action in the 2024 Olympic Games, a new documentary series will resurface several highlights.

From twelve national teams competing in Lille to eight contending for medals in Paris, fans can relive the journey behind the tip off to Olympic glory with a series coming to Netflix in 2025.

The plan was officially confirmed by Netflix on Friday.

Countering established restrictions about filming practices and games, an agreement between IOC and Netflix granted access to camera crews in preparations for national teams in battles to qualify for the men’s basketball tournament of Paris 2024 and set their sights on the Olympic podium. The plan was to deliver yet another exciting sports documentary series, a popular trend in recent years.

The series, produced by Words & Pictures, the Olympic Channel and Higher Ground Productions, will consist of six episodes, as announced in May.

Besides France advancing to the Olympics with an automatic berth as the hosting country, Germany and Serbia grabbed the European tickets out of the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Canada and the United States qualified similarly capturing the Americas spots, South Sudan progressed as the top-ranked country from Africa, as did Australia from Oceania and Japan from Asia. The remaining four berths were clinched by Brazil, Greece, Spain, and Puerto Rico in FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments held in July.

Concluding the Olympic tournament in Paris, the USA ended up with gold, France captured silver, and Serbia earned bronze.
