Great defense by Spain led to victory over Venezuela with 91-55, as the latter saw no options right from the first quarter.
The Spanish team went eager to offer spectacle, which was found with Pau Gasol on the first play, then Victor Claver made it a 8-0 run in three minutes Sergio Rodriguez and Fernando San Emeterio maintained the offensive success to set the score at 25-11 with which ended the first quarter.
Venezuela’s Vargas was able to break the Spanish defensive barrier to score ten points, although insufficient to stop the Spanish dominance. The difference rested at 23 points at halftimw (48-25).
Spain eventually made it a 30 point game (61-31), then the deficit reached 40 points (84-44) with just over three minutes remaining.
