Rudy Fernandez and Real Madrid got the big win in OAKA against Panathinaikos and Eurohoops had the chance to talk with the Spanish player after the end of the game. As he said: “For me it’s the first time to win in this arena. We are so happy for this victory and now we return (to Madrid) with five wins in a row, so it’s a very good result for us”.
So can Real continue this streak and stay perfect until the end? “I don’t know. Every game is tough, our group is really competitive. (Against Panathinaikos) we played very good in the second half, absolutely aggressive defense, so this is how we got the win”.
In the start of the season Rudy said that if he had to chose, then he would prefer to win Euroleague and not Liga Endesa. Right now, he just wants to win everything he can: “Both competitions are very important for us. In two weeks we play for King’s cup, it’s also an important tournament for us, but for sure Euroleague is one of the best leagues in the world. So we are now in the right path in this second round”.
Of course, Eurohoops was obliged to ask Rudy about the incident in the game against Zalgiris that caused his punishment from Euroleague and our block from his official twitter account. “I don’t want to talk about that. It’s basketball and I only talk about basketball”, it was his answer and you can also watch his reaction.
