Deni Avdija used his time off to strengthen up and he showed why he is projected as a top-3 draft pick upon the Israeli League return to action following a three-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Avdija and Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Maccabi Ashdod 114-82 in the Winner League’s return, with the Israeli forward delivering one of his best performances of the season with 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists in less than 24 minutes.
19-year-old Avdija stated earlier this week that he has “unfinished business” with Maccabi before going to the USA, with the wish to win the championship by the end of the season. That depicted perfectly in his first-half performance, with 14 points and five rebounds in 12 minutes before the break.

The Maccabi Tel Aviv younger picked up where he left from in the second half, creating and scoring while using his time on the court efficiently. Adding up to Avdija’s efforts, Tyler Dorsey and Scottie Wilbekin led the winners with 19 and 15 points each.
Giannis Sfairopoulos’ squad registered their 20th win in 22 games this season and remains safe on top of the Winner League standings.
