Maccabi Tel Aviv turned on the defensive in the fourth period of Game 1 against Hapoel Tel Aviv to win 67 – 66 and take the lead in the quarterfinal series. NBA Draft prospect Deni Avdija hit the go-ahead, and ultimately game-winning, 3-pointer to make it 67 – 65 for the “Yellows” with 1:35 to play.

Hapoel was up 47 – 56 at the end of the third period but was outplayed by Maccabi that got its engines going down the stretch. Yovel Zoosman (12 points, nine rebounds), Avdija (10 points, eight rebounds), Scottie Wilbekin (10 points) and Jake Cohen (10 points) scored in double figures for the winning squad.
Jordan David dropped 15 points while Draft prospect Yam Madar had 12 points and four assists for Hapoel.
