C.J. Harris scored a game-high 26 points as Hapoel Holon delivered the upset by beating Maccabi Tel Aviv 79 – 76 at home to get its first win of the season in the Israeli Winner League in a postponed game for Round 3.
Hapoel used an electric 28 – 18 first-quarter entrance to get a head start and led 47 – 39 at halftime. Maccabi fought back in the third period and grabbed a 70 – 69 lead with three minutes remaining. The hosts then answered with a 10 – 4 run to get the victory.
Maxime De Zeeuw added 15 points for Hapoel while Elijah Bryant had 21 points for Maccabi that dropped to 4-1. The “Yellows” were coming off a EuroLeague win over Crvena Zvezda Thursday (3/12).
