Hapoel Jerusalem picks up Ray McCallum Jr.

Major signing for Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem bringing in Ray McCallum Jr. for the remainder of Israel’s Winner League. The team announced his addition on Monday.

“I know the results of the team so far this season are not up to expectations,” he said, per his new team’s official portal, “I will do my best to help the team find its rhythm and fight for the last title of the season.”

McCallum, 29, is coming off a G League stint with the Greensboro Swarm. He averaged 9.8 points, 4.9 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per contest in the Florida bubble.

Coming out of Detroit Mercy, he was picked 36th overall in the 2013 NBA draft. He went on to play in 154 games between the Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, and Memphis Grizzlies.

His pro career also includes a couple of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season attached to Unicaja Malaga in 2017-18 and Darussafaka Tekfen in 2018-19.

Hapoel Jerusalem, coached by Dainius Adomaitis, currently ranks third in the Israeli league carrying a 12-5 record.
