Angelo Caloiaro scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds in his first game after becoming a father earlier in April as Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Maccabi Haifa 82 – 78.
Yovel Zoosman made his return to action after two months of absence (knee) by contributing 11 points and eight rebounds in 19 minutes. Scottie Wilbekin also dropped 11 points as top-placed Maccabi improved to 19 – 4.
Haifa was up 61 – 59 entering the fourth period but its opponents were superior down the stretch and took a 80 – 73 lead in the last minute to seal their win.
