Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Hapoel Beer Sheva 93 – 92 in Game 2 of the Israeli Winner League best-of-three quarterfinals to win the series 2-0 and become the first team to move to the semifinals.
Angelo Caloiaro had 18 points, Ante Zizic finished with 16 points plus nine rebounds and Scottie Wilbekin posted 15 points plus six assists for Maccabi. The “Yellows” had to push back a comeback attempt from down nine (71 – 62) by their opponents who came close but didn’t manage to tying the series.
Spencer Weisz (21 points, 10 rebounds) and Amir Bell (21 points) stood out from Beer Sheva.
