Zalgiris Kaunas needs one more win to celebrate its 11th straight Lithuanian League title. The reigning champions routed Rytas Vilnius 90 – 72 on the road and took the 2-0 advantage in the best-of-five series.
Nigel Hayes had 15 points, Thomas Walkup contributed 14 points plus seven assists, Arturas Milaknis scored 14 and Joffrey Lauvergne added 14 points as well in what was a balanced offensive effort by Martin Schiller’s players.
Drew Goudelock led Rytas with 17 points. Martynas Echodas had 13 points and six rebounds while Gytis Radzevicius piched in 13 points of his own.
