FIBA World Cup bronze medalist in 2010, Renaldas Seibutis has retired from professional basketball. He revealed his decision to BasketNews.
Seibutis, 36, last played in the 2019 FIBA World Cup. His attempts to recover from his second back surgery in 2020 proved unsuccessful.
Besides the third place in the 2010 World Cup, he helped Lithuania win silver in the 2013 and 2015 editions of EuroBasket.
His last team at the club level was Zaragoza. He had also displayed his talents in Greece and Turkey, while Rytas, Zalgiris, Neptunas, and Sakalai made out his list of home country teams.
During his career, he logged 97 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague between Olympiacos, Rytas, and Zalgiris. He also made his way to 53 games of the 7DAYS EuroCup and was named to the 2011-12 First Team.
Seibutis spent his entire career in Europe, but in 2007 he was selected with the 50th overall pick of the NBA draft by the Dallas Mavericks.
