Zalgiris Kaunas remains perfect in the LKL league with a 3-0 record, however, things were not easy on the road against Lietkabelis. Zalgiris got the 73-69 win with Janis Strelnieks making two key throws and then Lukas Lekavicius sealing the deal.
The two guards were the top scorers of Zalgiris with Strelnieks scoring 18 points in total and Lekavicius adding 14. Those were the only scorers for Zalgiris in double digits. Emmanuel Mudiay was held to just 3 points in 18 minutes of action and with him not being able to deliver, Zalgiris was in trouble.
Paulius Jankunas, the captain of Žalgiris, suffered a calf injury and missed the game. According to the club, he is expected to be out of action for 10 days. He will miss the EuroLeague season opener against ASVEL and he is doubtful for the next round against Zenit St. Petersburg.
