Maccabi Tel Aviv struggled but managed to beat Hapoel Beer Sheva 71-64 on Saturday evening in the Israeli Winner League, to bounce back from last week’s defeat and improve to a 6-3 record.
Scottie Wilbekin and Oz Blayzer took control for Giannis Sfairopoulos’ squad, adding 16 points each, and Keenan Evans followed with 15 points and 7 assists. Ante Zizic followed with 10 points and 7 rebounds, with a few decisive plays to help Maccabi return from a 51-46 deficit at the end of the third period.
Derek Pardon led Beer Sheva with 17 points, 6 rebounds and Junior Etou had 16 points.
