Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv made short work of Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon LeZion to win, 109-83, at home Sunday night.
Minsk-born center and former Oregon player Roman Sorkin stood out with a season-high 20 points. He added four rebounds, two assists, and one steal over his Winner League Regular Season Round 19 showing. Dominating inside the paint extended to Jalen Reynolds contributing 19 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, and three assists.
Former NBA player and second overall pick of the 2011 draft Derrick Williams finished with 12 points to his name. Texas Tech product Keenan Evans and former Florida standout Scottie Wilbekin had ten points each. Angelo Caloiaro, Khyri Thomas, and Ante Zizic were not available for the team coached by Avi Even.
Five days after edging Bitci Baskonia in the rescheduled Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 19 matchup, the team based in Tel Aviv improved to 11-6 with the third win in a row at the domestic level. On Thursday, the Yellows will visit Crvena Zvezda mts in a Round 29 contest and will be looking to jump to 12-10 in Europe’s top continental club competition.
