Zalgiris Kaunas got the job done with an 89-60 win over Neptunas Klaipeda in Game 5 to advance to the Lithuanian League semifinals.
Tyler Cavanaugh led the Kaunas side with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists. Niels Giffey followed with 13 points and five rebounds, while Tai Webster and Josh Nebo each scored 11 points.
After leading 39-27 in the first half, Zalgiris extended its lead up to 30 points in the final period to seal its semifinals ticket with a triumph at home.
Despite stealing two victories in the series, Neptunas wasn’t able to match Zalgiris’ second-half explosiveness and ends this season as a quarterfinalist. Deividas Gailius had a game-high of 15 points for the visiting side and Matas Jogela added 9 points.
Next on, Zalgiris will face Lietkabelis in the upcoming semifinals after the latter swept Juventus.
