Zalgiris Kaunas beat Lietkabelis Panevezys 71 – 70 to take a 1-0 lead in the Lithuanian league best-of-five semifinal series.
It was a defense-dominant game that was extremely close from start to finish. With the score tied at 65, Zalgiris took a four-point lead and retained a small, yet steady advantage until the final buzzer.
Tai Webster finished with 14 points, Lukas Lekavicius scored 11 and Joffrey Lauvergne dropped 10 points for Zalgiris. Gediminas Orelik and Djordje Gagic had 19 points apiece for Lietkabelis.
