Vytenis Lipkevicius scored 21 points as Lietkabelis Panevezys shut down Zalgiris Kaunas 79 – 55 at home to tie the best-of-three semifinal series of the Lithuanian League to 1-1.
Lietkabelis was particularly dominant in the second quarter to take a 48 – 27 halftime lead. Zalgiris tried to cut that margin and approached 55 – 30 but the hosts retained a big margin and never allowed the defending champs to have any serious comeback hopes.
Josh Nebo (16 points) and Tyler Cavanaugh (10 points) scored in double figures from Zalgiris. Apart from Lipkevicius, Djordje Gagic had 15 points.
Game 3 is going to take place in Zalgirio arena Thursday (19/5).
