Lietkabelis has been on an impressive run this season on all fronts and after eliminating Zalgiris in the semis of the Lithuanian league playoffs, the team has now won Game 1 of the Finals against Rytas Vilnius with 77-68 on the road.

Panagiotis Kalaitzakis led the victors with 16 points and was crucial early on when the squad was recovering from Rytas’ 19-4 start to the game. Djordje Gagic followed with 15 points while Vytenis Lipkevicius scored 11.

On the opposing side, Margiris Normantas had 11 and Speedy Smith ten points.

The series is played in a best-of-five format with the home-court advantage switching sides after each game, meaning Lietkabelis will have a prime chance to double up in front of their own crowd.
