In a local derby, Maccabi Tel-Aviv tops Hapoel in a nail-biter 95-90. Maccabi now has all six wins.
Maccabi had a tough loss in Belgrade on Friday against Partizan in EuroLeague and now had to find confidence and rhythm against the biggest rival in the domestic league.
In a high-scoring game, Maccabi got the early lead but Hapoel had J’Covan Brown who played great in the second half, but ultimately it was not enough.
Maccabi remains perfect in Israel after six games, while Hapoel inks its first loss.
Alex Poythress led the way for Maccabi with 20 points and six rebounds. John DiBartolomeao added 18.
On the other side Brown had 18 points and 8 assists, Xavier Munford helped with 16, and Tomer Ginat added 15.
