After being far from the basketball court since the end of last season, when he last played with Brindisi, Alessandro Gentile signed with APU Udine.
The Italian forward, who was considered one of the brightest European talents a few years ago, suffered a scary domestic incident during the summer that forced him to start the 2022-23 season teamless.
This is the first time in Gentile’s career that the former Milan captain will play in Serie A2, the Italian second division.
APU Udine, which currently is fourth in the Red Group of Serie A2, will be his seventh Italian team after Treviso, Milan, Virtus Bologna, Trento, Varese, and Brindisi.
Abroad, he had experiences with Panathinaikos in Greece, Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel, and twice with Estudiantes in Spain.
In his last chapter with Brindisi in the 2021-22 season, the 30-year-old forward had 11.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game in the Italian league.
