The Yellows downed Hapoel Haifa 80:59, Sorkin led the scorers with 21 points three days before the showdown vs Real Madrid.
A glance at Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv’s latest run of results would probably put a smile on every yellow fan’s face. Today (Tuesday) was not different. Oded Kattash’s team got its sixth win in a row, 80-59 over Hapoel Haifa away, and looks super ready for the huge challenge that awaits on Friday – an encounter with Real Madrid in the Euroleague.
The defense was again the story this evening. Maccabi improved to 10-2 in Winner’s league thanks to its players’ ability to cover for their teammates and sacrifice fouls when needed. The Yellows led by 29 points during the game with Roman Sorkin (21 points) and Yiftach Ziv (15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists) shining brightly above others.
Looking ahead to Friday, Kattash will hope for the return of Wade Baldwin who was listed on the roster today but eventually didn’t play. With or without him, a 7th consecutive victory will be a fantastic achievement.
