Beating the Surrey Scorchers 88-75, the London Lions have been crowned 2022-23 British Basketball League champions, claiming their second-ever domestic league Regular Season trophy in the club’s history following the success in 2019.
Moreover, for the first time in BBL’s history, a club wins the championship with 6 games to play remaining. The London Lions are about to face Joventut Badalona in their first-ever EuroCup Eight-Finals after ending Group B at the 7th spot.
Recently, the CEO of the EuroLeague Marshall Glickman spent nothing but good words about the basketball market in London. “I definitely think that London and Paris will be in the Euroleague in the future. We did research five years ago with the Deloitte company and we saw that it is possible to increase the market in Germany, France, and England”, he expressed.
🦁 THE LIONS ROAR ONCE MORE!
Congratulations to the @LondonLions, who win their first #BBLChampionship title since the 2018/19 season – their second silverware of the season!
