What’s the best way to celebrate a contract extension? A victory, obviously. And that’s what Maccabi Tel Aviv has done the day following the announcement of Oded Kattash’s renewal until 2024, by beating Hapoel Beer Sheva 86-77 in the first game of their Quarter-Finals.
Darrun Hilliard scored 17 points with five three-pointers and was followed by Lorenzo Brown with 14. Roman Sorkin and Alex Poythress added 10 points each. Both Wade Baldwin IV and Josh Nebo didn’t step on the court.
After losing the Israeli State Cup against Hapoel Jerusalem and being eliminated from the EuroLeague Playoffs by AS Monaco in the best-of-five series, Maccabi Tel Aviv is now up 1-0 in the Israeli Winner League Quarter-Finals.
