After snapping a three-game losing streak across all competitions by taking down Panathinaikos Aktor on Thursday, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv bounced back in the Regular Season of Ligat Winner with a dominating showing.
The reigning champions of Israel routed Ironi Hai Motors Ness Ziona, 97-73, in a Round 9 affair on Saturday.
Matching his best scoring performance in the 2023-24 campaign, Josh Nebo dropped a game-high 22 points behind 10/13 two-pointers in Lev Hamoshava. James Webb III tucked in five three-pointers and followed with 18 points combined with nine rebounds. Lorenzo Brown paired 13 points with seven assists. Fueling the win with 17/34 triples improved the domestic record to 4-3.
Late in the first quarter, the home side fell into a double-digit hole and were forced down to 7-5. The separation from the Tel Aviv outfit kept growing despite Colorado product George King tallying a team-high 18 points.
Partially due to squad restrictions, Antonius Cleveland and Jasiel Rivero were rested by the Yellows. Reporting back pain, Rafi Menco was a late scratch. All three players are projected to be available for the next two-game week of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season.
The team coached by Oded Kattash is set to travel to Spain. Meeting Real Madrid on Tuesday and Baskonia on Thursday are coming up on the schedule. Amid a battle to qualify for the Playoffs in Europe’s premier club continental competition, a 13-10 record is tied for sixth on the standings.
