A natural fit to the festive atmosphere of the Stoiximan AegeanBall Festival, Boban Marjanovic was recently confirmed for the sixth edition of the event held in Syros, Greece.

Marjanovic, 35, joined the list of players set to play in the VIP League of the FIBA 3X3 tournament on June 30. The three-day schedule starts on June 28, leading to the traditional main event in the form of various household names competing in the VIP League.

With multiple courts placed in front of the Town Hall of Ermoupolis in Miaouli Square, the Festival offers a unique experience to kids, amateurs, and professional athletes. Add longevity and charity work to the mix, it proudly ranks among the main summer basketball attractions every year.

Retired player Giorgos Printezis is the mastermind behind the creation and inviting stars to his hometown every summer. The two-time EuroLeague champion with Olympiacos has hosted players the likes of Ioannis Bourousis, Dimitris Diamantidis, Mathias Lessort, Vasilije Micic, Nikola Milutinov, Kostas Papanikolaou, Ioannis Papapetrou, and many more over the years. Marjanovic is the next star on his way to the Greek island.

Printezis presenting his idea to hold an annual 3X3 tournament in Syros goes back to the first installment in 2016. The huge success prompted a repeat in 2017 and from there to a third event in 2018. Following a break due to the coronavirus pandemic and health and safety regulations, the AegeanBall Festival bounced back in 2022 and has been on a roll since.
