Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv lost, 106-101, to Bnei PenLink Herzliya in overtime on Sunday.
After storming back from a double-digit deficit and then rallying late in the fourth quarter, the Yellows fell short of a 6-0 start in Israel’s Winner League Regular Season. A foul by Rokas Jokubaitis with 0.2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of the Round 6 contest allowed Xavier Sneed to force five extra minutes with three free throws.
Sneed, a former Kansas State standout, ended up sharing a game-high 25 points with Gabonese Chris Silva. Jimmy Clark III threw in 19 points to go with nine assists, five rebounds, and two steals. Joshua Hawley added 16 points. On the losing end, Jaylen Hoard registered a team-high 20 points with 7/9 two-pointers.
Recovering from a hamstring injury, Tamir Blatt played his first game in three weeks. He logged five points and five assists, lasting nearly 13 minutes. Recently sidelined with a hamstring injury, Jasiel Rivero was unavailable for head coach Oded Kattash. In addition, Saben Lee remained away from the team for domestic games.
