Zalgiris makes short work of Neptunas to break a tie in the second place of Lithuania’s Betsafe LKL

A comfortable win, 97-70, for Zalgiris versus Neptunas in Klaipeda’s Svyturio Arena on Sunday.

Following a scoreless debut in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Lonnie Walker IV bounced back with a game-high 19 points. In his first appearance in Lithuania’s Betsafe LKL, the former NBA player dropped 7/11 from the field, including four triples. Lasting nearly 20 minutes, he added one rebound, one assist, and one block.

Tomas Dimsa, Bryant Dunston, and Alen Smailagic were sidelined, but Ignas Brazdeikis recovered from a back injury and returned to action with eight points and three rebounds over 15 minutes. Sitting out Round 8 of the EuroLeague Regular Season, the 25-year-old forward missed Thursday’s game against FC Bayern Munich in SAP Garden.

Brady Manek threw in 15 more points with 6/8 field goals, including 3/5 from beyond the arc. Arnas Butkevicius and Sylvain Francisco finished with 13 and 11 points, respectively. On the losing end, Dimitris Agravanis produced a team-high 17 points.

The team coached by Andrea Trinchieri jumped to 6-2 in the Regular Season of the domestic league, forcing Giorgos Vovoras’ side to 5-3. Taking down M Basket-Delamode on Saturday, leading Rytas improved to 7-1.
