Bouncing back from losing efforts in a two-game Turkish Airlines EuroLeague week, Zalgiris destroys M Basket-Delamode

A 55-point win, 101-46, for Zalgiris over M Basket-Delamode in Zalgirio Arena on Sunday.

Recovering from a wrist injury, Alen Smailagic set the pace with nine points in the first quarter of Lithuania’s Betsafe LKL Regular Season contest. The 24-year-old Serbian forward, playing his first game in two weeks, went on shaping a 20-point effort behind 9/10 field goals. He also pulled down five rebounds.

Connecting 6/7 from the field, Laurynas Birutis put in 17 points to go with six rebounds, one assist, and one steal. The third double-digit scorer of the evening, Brady Manek had ten points. Lukas Lekavicius chipped in eight points, six assists, four rebounds, and one steal.

Lonnie Walker IV was held to 3:42, producing six points, one rebound, and one steal. Besides Tomas Dimsa recovering from shoulder surgery, Arnas Butkevicius and Bryant Dunston were ruled out for the domestic affair.

For the visitors, A.J. English and Amandas Urkis stood out with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

After falling to 6-4 in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with two losses through the double-game week, the team coached by Andrea Trinchieri jumped to 7-2 and caught Rytas on top of the standings of the domestic league.
