The 16-year NBA veteran, Danilo Gallinari, announced on his social media accounts that he has signed a deal to play for Vaqueros de Bayamón in Puerto Rico.

He thanked Carlos Arroyo for the opportunity and hinted at potential NBA return, as well as playing for the Italian national team at the 2025 EuroBasket.

It is with great pleasure that I prepare for a new important challenge with the Vaqueros de Bayamón jersey. I am grateful to be able to do what I love most—playing basketball and staying close to my family.

I thank the club, and especially Carlos Arroyo, for their trust and for giving me the opportunity to keep the door open in case of an NBA call.

I return to the court with the excitement of new beginnings but also with the hope of a great ending in ‘azzurro,’ ready to wear the Italian jersey for one last great European adventure,” Gallinari wrote on X.

During his NBA career, Danilo Gallinari played 777 regular season games, averaging 14.9 points and 4.7 rebounds. He donned the colors of several teams, starting with the New York Knicks in 2008 and finishing with a short stint with the Milwaukee Bucks last season.
