Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet has won the last four editions of the Serbian Radivoj Korać Cup and took the first step toward a fifth consecutive title.
Ioannis Sfairopoulos’ side secured a convincing 104-70 quarterfinal win over Borac Čačak in Niš and will face FMP in the Serbian Cup semifinals (14/02).
The Greek tactician couldn’t count on John Brown and Rokas Giedraitis due to a rule that allows all Cup participants to register up to four foreign players, but that didn’t stop his team from performing at a high level. Crvena Zvezda led throughout the entire game, progressively increasing the lead, which became unattainable by the final quarter.
Ognjen Dobrić ended up as the top scorer with 18 points, while Filip Petrušev added 16, along with seven rebounds for a game-high PIR of 26. Nemanja Nedović contributed 15, and Isaiah Canaan followed with 11 points.
For the losing side, Pavle Nikolić scored 14 points, Justas Furmanavičius added 13, and Diante Baldwin had 12 points. Stefan Fundić (10 rebounds) and Nikola Manojlović followed with 10 points apiece.
