Maccabi Tel Aviv‘s season has been difficult in the EuroLeague, but this February break has given Oded Kattash’s team a reason to smile with the 87-72 win over Hapoel Jerusalem for the Israeli State Cup title.
Having played with the red-and-black side from 2022 to 2024, winning the past two Israeli State Cups, Levi Randolph this time was on the other side, emerging as one of Maccabi‘s highest scorers with 19 points.
Rokas Jokubaitis, instead, went close to a double-double with 20 points and 8 assists, while Jasiel Rivero contributed at the rim with 13 points and 8 rebounds.
Jared Harper, who has been dragging Hapoel Jerusalem most of the time so far this season, his first one with the Israeli club, had a losing effort of 23 points.
Getting to this do-or-die game, Maccabi beat Hapoel in the derby of Tel Aviv to advance from the Semi-Finals. Hapoel Jerusalem, instead, eliminated Bnei Herzliya to make it to the Final. The two teams will now progress their season domestically and respectively in the EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup.
