Crvena Zvezda defeated Partizan Belgrade 89 – 83 in overtime to claim Serbia’s Radivoj Korać Cup title for the fifth consecutive time and 11th overall since the tournament was introduced in 2003.
Red Star closed the extra period with a 9 – 2 run to get the victory. With Partizan up 80 – 81, Nikola Kalinic hit the go-ahead free throws and then Codi Miller-McIntyre took over with seven personal points in the last two minutes after scoring just two until then.
Carlik Jones, who was spectacular with a game-high 34 points plus five assists, had a chance to possibly win it for Partizan in regulation but went 1-2 from the line with four seconds to playin the fourth period. Kalinic misfired from beyond the arc on the other end.
Filip Petrusev led Crvena Zvezda with 18 points plus seven rebounds and was named MVP of the Final. Isaiah Canaan scored 13, Kalinic added 12 points and Milos Teodosic dropped 11 points. Miller-McIntyre dished out six assists to go with his nine points.
Apart from Jones, Vanja Marinkovic scored 13 points for Partizan. Tyrique Jones had 12 points and seven rebounds while Sterling Brown posted 11 points.
