From a 17-point lead, Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv required ten straight points midway through the fourth quarter to bounce back and went on to secure a win, 76-70, over Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv on Sunday.
Yam Madar was the top player for the team coached by Dimitris Itoudis in Round 18 of Israel’s Winner League Regular Season. The 24-year-old guard chipped in 14 points, six rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks. Jonathan Motley recorded a game-high 16 points in Menora Mivtachim Arena.
On the wrong end of the Tel Aviv derby, Jasiel Rivero and Marial Shayok scored 15 and 13 points, respectively. Trevion Williams was a late scratch due to illness, joining Rokas Jokubaitis (ankle) and Jaylen Hoard (hamstring) on the sidelines.
Earlier in Pais Arena, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem overcame Gabriel Chachashvili’s early exit and beat Bnei PenLink Herzeliya, 94-79. Ending up tied with the Red Devils at 32 points, the distance from the top seed was reduced to one point.
