Zalgiris enjoyed an easy home win against Pieno Zvaigzdes

Zalgiris Kaunas beat Pieno Zvaigzdes at home with 98-84, to improve to 11-1 after 12 weeks in the Lithuanian league. The hosts played without captain Paulius Jankunas, who was out to get some rest.

From early on, the game was set to be a scoring fest and Zalgiris was up 29-24 after the first 10 minutes. Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team never lost the lead and was up 50-41 at halftime.

The hosts started expanding in the second half, keeping a 10-point advantage after 30 minutes (72-62).

Brock Motum was the first scorer for his team with 20 points, Arturas Milaknis followed with 14, Leo Westermann added 13 and Antanas Kavaliauskas had 10.

After 12 weeks, Zalgiris still remains on top of the Lithuanian league, while Lietuvos Rytas is in the second place with a 9-3 record.
