Zalgiris Kaunas snapped back from its loss in the LKL league last week and beat rival Lietuvos Rytas 79-72 in Vilnius. This marks the 20th win for Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team (with only 2 losses), while Rytas has fallen to a 15-7 record and on the third place of the standings.
Brock Motum and Kevin Pangos were the leading scorers for the visiting team with 13 points each, while Paulius Jankunas and Renaldas Seibutis also scored 12 each.
For the opposing team, David Logan finished the game with 18 points and 5 rebounds.
Zalgiris got a grip of the game early on, leading 12-17 after the first quarter. The hosts took the lead with one point at halftime, 36-35, then Seibutis scored 6 back to back points to keep the visitors up 54-56 after 30 minutes.
