Maccabi Tel Aviv fell to Hapoel Holon with 79-80 after a tough battle in Tel Aviv. After the loss to Zalgiris Kaunas, the Israelis suffered a historic loss, as it was Hapoel Holon’s first ever road win against Maccabi in the league.
Victor Rudd led the hosts with 23 points and 7 rebounds, while Devin Smith and Sylven Landsberg added 12 points each.
The opening of the second quarter belonged to Holon, who had a 22-28 lead with an 0-8 run. Rudd, Smith helped Maccabi approach to 28-29, though the visitors were still up 36-43 at halftime.
At 28′, the score was tied to 55 points and the final quarter brought the two teams head to head. Rudd had the fate of the game in his hands with a pair of free throws towards the end, though he only made one of the two and Maccabi lost the chance to send the game to overtime.
