Defending champs Zalgiris Kaunas became the first team that qualified in the Lithuanian League finals after downing Neptunas 69 – 53 in Klaipeda.
In a low scoring game, as one can easily tell from the final score, Arturas Milaknis paced the winners with 15 points, every single one of them coming from downtown. Edgaras Ulanovas had 11 points and Lukas Lekavicius 10.
Mindaugas Girdziunas led Neptunas with 14.
After the game, Augusto Lima addressed the now viral Sarunas Jasikevicius’ heartwarming answer following a question regarding a leave of absence the Brazilian player was given to attend his wife giving birth.
“My wife cried and thanked him. I sent him a message: if you protect my family, I’ll protect yours,” said Lima.
