The Shandong Golden Stars have reportedly made Donatas Motiejunas a $ 3.000.000 bid for one year in order to convince him to join them in China. As one can easily imagine, it was an offer he couldn’t refuse and thus he agreed to join them, according to 15Min.lt.
The 26-year-old Lithuanian forward/center also had an offer of 1 million euros per season from Maccabi Tel Aviv on the table, as 15Min.lt writes. While he was seriously considering the proposal of the Israelis that bring him back to EuroLeague for the first time since 2012, he ultimately chose to go with the economically far superior proposal of the Shandong Golden Stars.
Motiejunas will join a parade of stars that either played in EuroLeague last season (Keith Langford – top scorer of the competition, Giannis Bourousis, Aaron Jackson) or/and were in the list of European powerhouses, like former Brooklyn Nets player Justin Hamilton.
