Jonah Bolden scored 11 of his season-high 20 points in the fourth period leading Maccabi Tel Aviv to an 83 – 62 victory over Maccabi Haifa in round 4 of the Israeli League.
The 21-year-old Australian forward fired from all corners, finishing with 4/5 from beyond the arc and 7/8 from the field in total. He also grabbed five rebounds, dished two assists and blocked the ball once for a 28 (also season-best) in PIR.
Maccabi Haifa had given the “Yellows” quite the trouble for 30 minutes (61 – 56 at the end of the third) behind Angel Rodriguez’s (14 points, seven rebounds) and Willy Workman’s (13 points, seven rebounds) but didn’t manage to stay competitive in the final stretch.
Reigning champion Hapoel Jerusalem suffered its first loss in the season by falling to Maccabi Ashdod at home.
