Maccabi Tel Aviv prevailed in the Israeli derby against Hapoel Jerusalem with 88-71. Neven Spahija’s team remained perfect as they now stand on an 8-0 record in the Israelian league.
After the high-scoring first half the home team had a minimal lead 47-46. The third quarter was the crucial one as Maccabi was the far better team in that period.
The visitors were dominating on both sides of the floor as they won quarter number three 24-11. After that, it was a one-way situation as Maccabi easily finished the game allowing the opponent to score only 24 points in the second half.
Pierre Jackson was the man for Maccabi as he finished the game with 18 points and 10 assist recording a double-double.
Richard Howel had a game-high with 20 points, but that was not enough as Hapoel fall to a 6-2 record.
