Chinese League club Guangdong Southern Tigers are heavily pursuing Mike James, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
The team is making a “hard push” for the American guard whose priority is to stay in the NBA.
James, 27, had also been on a potential transfer list of Barcelona after being waived by the Phoenix Suns earlier this week, just two weeks after his two-way contract was transformed to a full one-year deal.
James averaged 10.4 points, 3.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game during his stint with Phoenix.
League sources say Guangdong is making a hard push to convince ex-Suns guard Mike James to sign in China. James, of course, has been searching for a new NBA home since the 27-year-old rookie parted ways with Phoenix last week.
