Hapoel Jerusalem officially announced that American forward Austin Daye is no longer their player after a mutual decision was taken to terminate his contract.
Daye, 29, together with other Hapoel players, was on the “chopping block”, particularly following the team’s disappointing run in EuroCup and early elimination in the Group Phase.
In 10 EuroCup games, the former NBA champion (2014) with the San Antonio Spurs averaged 10 points and 3.7 rebounds in 18 minutes per match. He had signed with Hapoel Jerusalem in August.
Daye is eligible to sign with a EuroLeague team before tomorrow’s deadline expires. Last season he notched 8.7 points and 3 rebounds per game in the top-tier continental competition with Galatasaray.
