Zalgiris Kaunas prevailed over Juventus Utena on the road 81 – 79 but it wasn’t easy at all. Saras Jasikevicius’ squad remains on top in the Lithuanian league after this victory with a 17-2 record.
The visiting team dominated the first half (46 – 35) but Juventus went into a 0-11 starting the third quarter. The game remained close until the end. With the game tied, Axel Toupane scored a clutch shot almost at the buzzer and Zalgiris escaped with the win.
Arturas Milaknis led the winning side in scoring with 13 points while Toupane contributed with 12. Laron Dendy’s 21 points weren’t enough for Juventus.
